Wohnhausanlage Grüntenstraße - Augsburg - Germany

As part of a pilot project of the Supreme Building Authority in Bavaria with the aim to test strategies for the permanent reduction of CO2 emissions in practice, the Condominium Grüntenstraße has been thermally rehabilitated and modernized in Augsburg.
The requirements of the Energy Saving Regulation should be below 40% of 2009. At the same time, this renewal is a model building case in the EU research project E2reBuild.
A premise to the promoter was to carry out the renovation work in the neighbourhood without disturbing the the inhabitants of the building; that’s why a high degree of prefabrication was selected during the design in order to make the construction site as fast as possible. The building has got a new shell consisting of factory-made wood panel components with a clothing made of white-painted rough sawn boards.
